“I love the excited look a child gets when they have accomplished learning something new, it’s important to me that my students never stop learning and become lifelong learners.
In the future I hope to see more focus on problem based learning and students continuing to take charge of their learning. I think the more input and investment of the child the more likely they will be actively engaged and truly learn something.
I also think it’s ok to not know everything and to admit to your students when you don’t know something. Honestly, I think it empowers students to be the “teachers and leaders” in the classroom. I willingly admit to my students that they will teach me something throughout our time together. Then, I take what I learned and I share it with others while giving that child the credit for my new knowledge. We are all teachers. We are all students
My teaching position is a brand new one this year. I know I have helped other teachers see MANY possibility of integrating technology into their curriculum. I model how technology can open up more creative learning and can be an amazing tool for educators. It’s fun posting pictures showing my students utilizing technology to aid their learning. I am proud of them. Being connected with other educators through Twitter has helped expand my knowledge base.I can credit Twitter for introducing me to some wonderful technology that has benefited many of my students. It’s a great way to stay current with new things since technology itself is constantly making advancements”
